Differences

Baron laughed at and teased little Borealis. Borealis was the smallest foal in the herd, and as such he was a target for Barons' endless bullying. 

"What normal horse has colors like that? You and your parents are the weirdest horses I've ever seen", Baron continued.

Champagne overheard the teasing and trotted of to the two colts. She stood back to listen to the things Baron said and watched as tears began rolling down Borealis' face. She had to do something. 

"Baron! Leave him alone he hasn't done anything to you!" she stood over the colt and stared at Baron with her sea blue eyes.

"Well, look who came to the rescue. Miss save-a-runt."

"He's not a runt, he's just small. Give him time to grow and he could be as big as you. Look Baron, let him be. Remember you used to be the smallest too and your brothers used to tease you. Think of how that made you feel and then look at what you're doing to Bo. You're putting him through the same thing you went through. Just because he may be a little different doesn't give you the right to make fun of him. Underneath all this fur and skin we are all made the same. Our markings don't make us who we are, rather it's how we treat others, and you're looking pretty ugly right now. So how about you back off before I really hurt your feelings, fat head."

Baron stood in confusion but grunted and walked away. Borealis looked up at Champagne with his bright yellow eyes and smiled. He was grateful to her and would never forget what she had done for him. The filly folded her legs underneath her and layed down next to the small colt. 

"I don't think you're different," she said after a while. "I actually kinda like you."

Bo's heart jumped in his chest. Champagne shifted and snuggled up to Bo, sticking her muzzle into his neck. Bo layed his head on top of the filly's as they both closed their eyed and slowly fell asleep.
